Residents from Rack Hill in Chalford have petitioned their local council for a grant to purchase a donkey. The estimated cost per animal being from £300 - £600, the donkeys would carry their groceries up the windy paths to the hill top where many of the houses stand.

It is only a tiny percentage of bereaved families who consider the environmental aspect of the funeral; for most people the emotions of grief and loss overshadow any recently acquired awareness of environmental issues, the need for the comfort of ritual and socially acceptable tradition outweighs that of a consideration of ‘Green Dying’.

Calling All Budding Eco Writers
An innovative recycling online bookstore has launched a unique UK-wide writing competition this week where budding writers of all ages get the chance to write a chapter of a book. The Green Story, which has been created by GreenMetropolis.com, is an online creative writing competition where people submit their entries, which are then voted on, and at the end of every month the winning entry becomes the next chapter.
