Big Green Market to visit Solihull this November…

October 20th, 2008

The Big Green Market will bring shopping with an ethical edge to Solihull’s Mell Square this November.

The event described as a ‘street market with a conscience’ includes a varied mixture of ethical goodies, from organic cabbages to contemporary crafts and is a great opportunity for people to both do some eco-friendly Christmas shopping as well as stocking up on organic fruit and vegetables.

The Christmas Big Green Market will be at Solihull Mell Square from Friday 21 November, Saturday 22 November and Sunday 23 November and will feature a marquee as well as a selection of outside stalls ranging from organic food to British knitwear and recycled jewellery.

Organiser Jane Redfern says: “This is the first time that the Big Green Market has visited Solihull and I am particularly keen to include local producers and makers so they can reach out to a new audience. The mix of stallholders is much wider than those found on farmer’s markets and stallholders include a great selection of local small food producers, recycled gifts and ethical clothing.

The event is organized by Jane Redfern, and Paul Kennedy who have collaborated on this project to bring green/eco products, locally produced and ethically traded goods into our town centres. The market will be open from 9am to 5pm on each day and is free for people to wander around.
