Juno:Celebrating Natural Parenting
April 1st, 2007Juno was launched in September 2003 by two full-time mums who wanted to create both a magazine they actually wanted to read and a supportive community united by a shared set of values. We wanted a magazine that was alternative to the mainstream without
being prescriptive and which would celebrate and acknowledge the valuable art of parenting and home-making.
Both highly educated, we had rejected the modern notion of having it all and had chosen instead to stay at home with our young children. Working from home in order to be present for our children has been alternately richly rewarding and hugely challenging, but we have created a successful small business which continues to grow organically. We are part of a increasing community of parents working towards a new business paradigm, which embraces our personal values of attachment parenting, sustainability and creative living.
We feel that parenting is a learning journey. We are by no means parenting gurus ourselves and we try to avoid ‘experts’ telling you what to do, but aim to empower you through stories, experiences, ideas and inspirations to be the parent you want to be.
“You have just arrived in our postbox today - another whoop of joy can beheard ringing out through Cannes! Juno has been and continues to be an inspiration. It feels like Juno smiles, cries, laughs, believes, questions, dances, affirms, sings, encourages and shares with us as we find our way along the often bumpy path of parenthood. You remind us that we are not alone, but part of a wonderful, diverse, free-spirited community that is Juno.”
Emma Biche, Cannes, 2007
We are not a glossy magazine and you won’t find us in supermarkets or newsagents… Juno is published three times a year and is available nationwide from natural, organic, eco and baby shops including Out of this World, Planet Organic and Fresh and Wild. It is also available from Borders UK. For subscriptions and on-line articles visit our website. A 5 issue subscription costs £15 and we are currently offering a gorgeous Spiezia Organics travel pack worth over £20 to all new subscribers living in the UK.
