The Calendar of Climate Change

December 3rd, 2007

The Calendar of Climate Change is a large multifunctional photographic wall calendar, covering a variety of important climate issues. It is an effective choice for spreading the word to friends, family and workmates: they will have to look at the calendar for 365 days of the year!

First published in 2006, the striking calendar tracks year on year our relationship with climate change in words and more importantly, images. It probes 12 different aspects of climate change, some new, some ongoing, with each page featuring a pair of complementary images, climate facts and web links to related sites. Printed in the UK on 80 per cent recycled paper, it can be kept and referred to indefinitely, and because of this, has additionally found favour with a variety of climate specialist educators, schools and local authorities.

Travelling the world for the 2008 edition, the calendar takes a close-up and inspiring look at people in both hemispheres whose lives have already been impacted by climate change.

Flipside Vision director, picture editor Diana Korchien says: “Selecting these pictures is one of the most difficult tasks I have ever undertaken. Illustrating 12 aspects of climate change for what is traditionally a consumer gift item, I had to constantly ask myself: ‘does this page strike a balance between communicating the issues clearly, yet nonetheless remaining visually attractive in its own right?’”
