The Plastic Bottle Ark
February 2nd, 2010We’ve had the plastic bottle boat and Christmas tree but this month’s My Alter-Eco features the re-use of plastic bottles on a massive scale. 1.5 million to be precise!
In Taiwan a huge structure has been built by a company called the Far Eastern Group in order to help raise the profile of recycling. The eco ark has three floors as well as an exhibition hall and ampitheatre and is estimated to have cost the company 3 million dollars, a bargain in our eyes.
All that’s needed now is for some bright spark to think of a way of recycling the remaining 2.4 billion plastic bottles used annually in Taiwan. A plastic bottle city perhaps?
