A Centre For Sustainable Living In The Heart Of Dorset
Set amid rolling hills within walking distance of the stunning Jurassic coast, Monkton Wyld Court welcomes visitors of all ages with its beautiful grounds, garden, meadows and woodlands. A calendar of environmental activities and courses for adults and families entices guests from around the world. Volunteers are invited for weeklong visits, to work with us in exchange for lodging, food and a unique experience of community life.
Green Policies
Monkton Wyld Court is committed to continuing efforts to provide an example and experience of more sustainable living for guests and volunteers. We use solar power and are working to develop an affordable and environmentally sound heating system for our buildings. Our UV-filtered well water is delicious and we have a unique reedbed sewage system. We use only natural cleaning products wherever possible. Meals are beautifully prepared in the house kitchen using fresh ingredients from the walled garden and other local organic producers, as well as eggs from our own chickens. We choose local, organic, fair trade, recyclable and/or compostable products whenever possible and urge our visitors to do the same.
