Green Policies

In both our business and home life, we aim to be as environmentally sound as we possibly can be, following the reduce, re-use, and recycle principles whenever this is practical.

  • We purchase and use recycled, reused and “environmentally friendly” products wherever possible and purchase items with minimal packaging. Such items include office stationery, office equipment, packaging materials and cleaning products.
  • We keep to a minimum the amount of waste we produce as a result of our business activities (e.g. plastics, paper and board).
  • We re-use resources where we can (e.g. envelopes, packaging materials) and encourage our customers, friends and family to do the same. Those items which we are unable to re-use are recycled.
  • We are signed up to a green electricity tariff which supplies all power to our business. 100% of this electricity comes from renewable sources. We also use low energy light bulbs throughout our home and offices and switch off equipment when not in use.
  • We bank with the Co-operative Bank - a leader in the financial sector when it comes to eco-ethical policy and investment.
  • We only use one printer to produce all of our publicity material. Based in Chatham, Kent Art Printers are committed to minimising any detrimental effects of their business. They use alcohol-free dampening, solvent-free inks and a “No plate” printing process which dramatically reduces hazardous waste production, water usage and energy consumption.
  • We keep car-travel to a minimum where possible by walking and using public transport.
  • We support and use local small businesses and suppliers wherever possible. This includes a local organic box delivery scheme and local farm shop for all our vegetables!
