At Feelgood eco beds we pride ourselves in producing high-quality handmade wooden beds that don’t damage the environment or harm the planet. We also produce handmade bedroom furniture and can supply a range of mattresses including fully organic ones
Green Policies
To ensure that the production of our beds has minimum impact on the environment we follow our own strict guidelines at all stages of manufacture - from living tree to finished bed. woods.The head and footboards of our beds are made from English ash and the side rails and slats are made from good-quality pine. The ash is grown in managed woodlands within a 20-mile radius of our workshops and the need to use road haulage to transport the timber is therefore eliminated.
The ash is a combination of coppiced timber or harvested thinnings. Coppiced timber is produced by cutting the tree but leaving the remaining stump to produce new stems and hence more timber in the future. Thinnings are produced when it is necessary to create more space in a forest for the remaining trees to grow in height and girth.
The wood used for the side rails of our beds is FSC certified redwood and the wood used for the slats is FSC certified whitewood - both are light and stable
